According to him, the program combines the goals of the educational and research process, academic and research environment, information management, innovation, technology transfer, and internationalization.
“It is my responsibility to deliver a report before the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University. It is doubly responsible to participate in the competition to occupy such an important position as Head of the Quality Assurance Service. In case of my election, the Quality Assurance Service will successfully continue to implement the goals and objectives defined in the Action Plan, which was successfully implemented by my predecessor, Associate Professor David Makhvihadze. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze for the support that I, as the Dean, our faculty, and students have felt. Thanks to the Academic Council, colleagues.
As we reflect on our achievements and consider the future of the Georgian Technical University, as a scientist, researcher, professor, and candidate for the Head of Quality Service, I firmly believe that the development of our university depends on a shared vision, a vision that prioritizes academic success, innovation, and a student-centered approach.
The success of the Georgian Technical University is inseparable from the success of our academic staff and students. To continue advancing and strengthening teaching and learning, we must strengthen our educational programs in line with international standards. We must invest more in the development of faculties so that our professors have even greater access to the latest teaching methodologies and research opportunities; and further promote interdisciplinary collaboration to create a more dynamic and attractive learning environment. A university develops when it becomes a center of research and innovation.
In this direction, with the initiative and support of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the university operates innovation hubs, where students and professors can work together to create the latest technologies. The success of students is our ultimate goal. To better prepare them for the future, we must strengthen practical learning, including internships, partnerships with industries, and real-world projects; we must further modernize the curriculum, which reflects the requirements of the labor market and developing industries; we must further strengthen career development services. I am confident that under the leadership of Academician David Gurgenidze, we will be able to overcome all challenges,” Ivane Jagodnishvili noted in his speech.
As the Rector of the Georgian Technical University stated, the university is committed to quality assurance and continuous improvement, in which the Quality Assurance Service plays a leading role.
“Quality assurance is not just a requirement - it is a commitment to excellence. Therefore, more work is needed to evaluate and improve academic programs. We are committed to ensuring that accreditation standards are not only met but also further developed, which strengthens our reputation as a leading institution in the region.
The future of our university is in our hands. Success requires cooperation between faculty, students, and administration. The success of the university is the success and future of the country. I call on each of you to be more active in both research, teaching, and student engagement. Together, we are developing a university that also sets new standards in education and innovation,” Academician David Gurgenidze noted in his speech.
By the resolution of the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University, a competition for the position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service was announced in February, and the elections were scheduled for March 7th.
