Erasmus+

International mobility with credit accumulation

From 2015, Georgian Technical University has been undertaking exchange programmes supported by the European Commission as part of the first Erasmus+ activity (individual learning mobility) - international mobility through credit accumulation - International Credit Mobility (ICM).

Erasmus + Credit Mobility Programme offers two stages for those wishing to participate:

The competition for international mobility scheduled for the spring semester will be held in November, and for international mobility scheduled for the fall semester-in April.


The deadline for submitting applications for spring semester international mobility is October 31 for students and November 5 for employees, while the deadline for fall semester international mobility is March 31 for students and April 5 for employees.


Please keep in mind that the date for submitting documents may vary depending on the specific Coordinator University's criteria. Georgian Technical University's website will be updated on a regular basis with detailed information about the competition conditions, categories, and terms of the proposed mobility.


Only fully completed and properly signed submissions will be accepted; otherwise, the applicant will be automatically eliminated from the competition.

Until the end of the deadline for accepting applications, the applicants' documents will not be checked and the applicant will not be informed, and after the end of the deadline, submitted applications will no longer be considered for competition.

 

The ICM programme reimburses travel fees based on the distance between the home and host locations and offers scholarships.

Travel distances                           Top-up amounts

Between 10 and 99 KM:               20 EUR per participant
Between 100 and 499 KM:           180 EUR per participant
Between 500 and 1999 KM:         275 EUR per participant
Between 2000 and 2999 KM:       360 EUR per participant
Between 3000 and 3999 KM:       530 EUR per participant
Between 4000 and 7999 KM:       820 EUR per participant
8000 KM or more:                         1300 EUR per participant 

  • International mobility for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students for one or two semesters. The study duration abroad must match the student's academic programme at the sending university.

The monthly scholarship amount for students is regulated by the host country, and on average:  

Denmark, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Liechtenstein, Norway

900 euros

Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Netherlands, Malta, Portugal

850 euros

Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Turkey

800 euros

The competition is open to the following participants:

  • Students with active status who are enrolled at Georgian Technical University at the relevant level during the competition

Mobility is allowed:

  • Bachelor's degree, fourth-seventh semesters;
  • Master's degree, second-third semesters;
  • PhD, second-fifth semesters.

The following cannot take part in the competition:

  • Erasmus + programme for international mobility students of any level who have previously received an Erasmus+ grant at the same level and whose mobility time, including planned mobility, exceeds 12 months;
  • A student who previously took part in mobility and has not fulfilled the responsibilities under the relevant agreement, and/or has not/could not produce the document of recognition of the credits received at the receiving institution to the appropriate faculty at GTU.
  • Students with academic debt;

If the information are the same, priority will be given to:

  • A contender who is socially vulnerable, has special needs, a representative of a national minority (member of the so-called "1+4 educational programme"), and/or a displaced person, in case of presentation of sufficient documentation
  • Contestants who have never before earned funds from the European Union-funded Erasmus+ mobility programmes.

Documents for participation in the competition:

Student (Bachelor, Master's, Doctoral)

  • Copy of ID/passport;
  • Certificate on the status of the student, indicating the year/level of study and the language of instruction;
  • Filled application form (in English)
  • EUROPASS CV (in English)
  • Motivation letter (in English)
  • Certificate of language proficiency of the educational programme (if the contestant has received previous education on the relevant language programme, the certificate is no longer required);
  • Marks sheet, with GPA indication (in English);
  • An individual study agreement (in English)drawn up in consultation with the head of the quality service of the relevant faculty and confirmed by the signature of the applicant and the dean
  • A letter of reference with the recommender's contact details (in English);
  • If any, reference, that a contender is socially vulnerable, has special needs, a representative of a national minority (member of the so-called "1+4 educational programme"), and/or a displaced person, in case of presentation of sufficient documentation (in English);
  • Diploma of Higher Education received at the previous level and appendix (if available) or academic certificate (in English);
  • Research plan (in English) (for PhD students, also for undergraduate and graduate students, certified by the dean of the relevant faculty);
  • More details on the contestant (participation in conferences, sports, self-promotion, and other student events);
  • Letter of encouragement from a host university professor or administrative unit (in English) (an official document is not required). (Approval by email is sufficient) (only for doctorate, final-year undergraduate, and master's students).

Note:The competition winner is not free from tuition expenses at Georgian Technical University during the mobility term.

Academic/administrative staff mobility

  • For teaching purposes:
  • Academic staff have the opportunity to lecture at partner higher educational institutions
  • For training purposes:
  • This programme aims to enhance the professional development of university personnel in the partner institution by providing chances for training, job shadowing, and conferences.

The amount of daily funding for academic/administrative staff is regulated by the host country, on average:

Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Iceland, Sweden, Ireland, Finland, Liechtenstein

180 euros

Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Netherlands, Malta, Portugal

160 euros

Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Turkey

140 euros

The competition is open to the following participants:

  • Academic/administrative staff who work for Georgian Technical University throughout the competition (full-time or contracted employees)

The following cannot take part in the competition:

  • A person who participated in the mobility but did not meet the duties outlined in the applicable agreement and/or did not submit a mobility report to the Department of International Relations in accordance with the specified procedures.

Academic/administrative staff

  • Certificate of language proficiency of the educational programme (if the contestant has received previous education on the relevant language programme, the certificate is no longer required);
  • Completed draft of the mobility agreement (in English), signed by the applicant and the head of the appropriate structural unit: Academic activity plan (in English) (for academic staff only) and Plan of administrative activities (in English) (for administrative personnel only);
  • A letter of reference with the recommender's contact details (in English);
  • Recent higher education diploma with appendix (if any) or academic certificate (in English);
  • Further information about the contestant (conferences, publications, inventions; participation in grant projects; educational programme leadership; activities aimed at internationalisation; activities related to the organisation of public, educational-scientific, and creative events at the university, etc.);
  • Certificate of health problem (if present) (in English);
  • Certificate of employment at the University (in English);

In the event of the the same information, preference will be given to participants with special requirements
