Georgian Technical University (GTU) implements 25 vocational education programs, involving more than 400 students. The University has two branches: the Tkibuli Mining and Technological Institute and the Niko Nikoladze Agro-Engineering and Food Technology Professional College in Didi Jikhaishi. There are several laboratories with appropriate equipment at GTU. With funding from the Millennium Challenge Corporation Fund- Georgia (MCA GEORGIA) and in partnership with BP Georgia, four vocational education programs were created at GTU, which are still being implemented today, contributing to the training of qualified specialists.
In addition, the Georgian Technical University implements short-term training and retraining programs. These include Blaster, Installation of Renewable Energy Sources Equipment (Installation of Solar Thermal Systems), Installation of Renewable Energy Sources (Installation of Surface Geothermal Heat Pump Systems), Installation of Renewable Energy Sources Equipment (Installation of Solar Photovoltaic Systems), and Installation of Renewable Energy Sources Equipment (Installation of Small-scale Biomass Boilers and Furnaces).
The Millennium Challenge Corporation Fund-Georgia (MCA Georgia) and BP Georgia partnership created vocational programs at the Georgian Technical University based on labor market demands. After a series of consultations with local and German experts, as well as representatives from the business sector and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE), the following four vocational programs were identified and prepared:
