The Rector of the Georgian Technical University Expresses Condolences to the Family of the Deceased Student, Tornike Tsilosani
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, expresses his sorrow over the unexpected death of Tornike Tsilosani, a master’s student of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, and extends his condolences to his family and relatives.

“We express our deep sorrow over the unexpected death of Tornike Tsilosani, a talented and promising student of the Master’s Program in Occupational Safety and Health of the Faculty of Mining and Geology. The fight against an incurable disease turned out to be short-lived and tragic for our master’s student, full of kindness and generosity, his family and friends, his native Lanchkhuti, and his alma mater.

We want Tornike Tsilosani’s family to know that their son was a highly scientifically motivated, talented, noble and responsible young man who was distinguished by hard work and human values. The professors and teachers of the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Georgian Technical University have known Tornike since 2019, when he was studying in the Bachelor’s Program in Engineering Safety and Emergency Management and was awarded the academic degree of Bachelor of Occupational Safety.

In these difficult moments, we find it difficult to express our condolences to Tornike’s parents, family members, and relatives - may God give them strength and “"Strengthening from within in adversity.”

The memory of the outstanding student, Tornike Tsilosani, will remain an unhealed wound for the Georgian Technical University for a long time. May the Georgian land be easy for him,” the rector of the Georgian Technical University said in his condolence message.

The Chancellor of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Karlo Kopaliani, the President of the Supervisory Board of the GTU, Professor Zurab Gudavadze, Vice-Rectors Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Professor Teimuraz Kunchulia, students, and professors join in expressing their condolences to Academician David Gurgenidze.
