Between the Georgian Technical University and “Avtotechno”, a memorandum of cooperation was signed within which was opened a training center equipped with modern equipment at the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering.
The memorandum of cooperation, which includes the opening of a training center at the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering at the first stage, was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of GTU, Professor Temur Boulia, and the founder and director of “Avtotechno” - Mikheil Alkhazishvili.
According to the Vice-Chancellor of the Georgian Technical University, the history of the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering began in 1928. At the faculty, multidisciplinary educational programs focused on Georgian and European educational standards are taught, including the ones having no analogs in Georgia.
“Today, the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering at various levels of education provides the training of highly qualified personnel at the international level, which is directly related to the relations established by the management with various companies. “Avtotechno” is a company founded in 2016, that distributes new Chinese, reliable industrial auto equipment in Georgia and offers customers a service tailored to individual interests and needs. Therefore, the memorandum of cooperation and the opening of the training center is siginificant. I wish success to the faculty, students, and the company”, said the Vice-Chancellor.
According to the dean of the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Professor Boris Githolendia, the opening of the educational, innovative concept center with the support of the company aims at improving the learning environment for students.
“The idea of creating the center is innovative and involves modern education and training programs implementation for students and employees of the company, both to acquire new theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience.
The subject and form of activity of the multi-year memorandum signed between the Georgian Technical University and “Avtotechno” is the cooperation of the parties, which aims to share knowledge and experience within the competence of the parties, to implement joint events, to share the scientific-technical, production base and potential of the parties, and to develop educational programs, participation, promotion of the development of skills of university students and staff, and cooperation within the framework of common interests”, said the dean.
The opening event of the training center at the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering was attended by students, professors, representatives of the GTU administration, the heads of the “Avtotechno” company, as well as professors working in 15 European universities, and representatives of the academic circle.
They visited the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering of the Georgian Technical University within the framework of the 8th Georgian-Polish International Scientific Conference – “Transport Bridge Europe-Asia”. It should be noted that the company “Avtotechno” is one of the sponsors and co-organizers of the conference.
