Georgian Technical University students, within the framework of the 2024 population and agricultural census, will take advantage of the one-time short-term vacancies announced by the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Sakstat) and will be employed as interviewers.
The students received an employment offer from the Saxstat management at the information meeting held at the Georgian Technical University.
Sakstat Executive Director Gogita Todradze was introduced to the youth by the rector of the Georgian Technical University. Academician David Gurgenidze promised Saxstat full support from the administration of the GTU during the census process.
As the rector noted, proper use of the youth’s potential is important in the process of the 2024 population and agricultural census; on the other hand, participation in the large-scale activity of the census will create new career development opportunities for students.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Technical University - Zurab Gudavadze, Vice-Rector - Tamar Tsereteli, deans of faculties, professor-teachers, deputy Executive Director of Saxstat - Paata Shavishvili and the head of Tbilisi Statistics Bureau - Irakli Kakhidze.
According to the executive director of Saxstat, the population census in Georgia will be conducted from November 14 to December 19, however, due to the possible deterioration of the weather and difficult meteorological conditions, the population census in some high-mountainous and hard-to-reach administrative units will be conducted from September 18 to October 8 of this year.
Gogita Todradze provided comprehensive information to the students about the goals and objectives of the census, the date of the census, data collection methods, methodology, and the content of the questionnaire.
As he mentioned, students will be allowed to participate in the census process in the interviewer position after passing special training. A free schedule is defined for young people to perform work, and the employment period covers two weeks.
