GTU Students’ Integrity Autumn Camp/School was the first stage of the Project entitled “GTU Students’ Integrity Autumn Camp/School and CIB & Social Accountability Activities”. The Camp/School was based in the office of the NGO Library-Cultural Centre for People with Disabilities “TANADGOMA” and took place from November 26 to 29, 2015. It hosted 13 participants: 11 GTU students selected through an open competition and 2 beneficiaries of the Library-Cultural Center for People with Disabilities”TANADGOMA”.
The Camp/School included thematic Study Sessions on integrity, corruption and anti-corruption using such full-class teaching techniques as are: Lecture/PPT, Guest Speakers, Case Studies, Films, Critical Debates, and applied such interactive and experiential teaching methods as are Analytic Teams and Role-Play. Within the framework of the Camp/School students were also introduced to various CIB & Social Accountability activities for students and citizens with a special emphasis on Citizen Report Cards.
On December 10 – 12, 2015, two active participants of the Camp/School, the European Studies Students at the Business-Engineering Faculty of GTU: Mariami Bagauri and Tamuna Robakidze, along with the Project Author and Trainer-Facilitator, GTU Associate Professor Khatuna Chapichadze participated and gave presentations related to the Project in the workshop organized by CEU Business School and Integrity Action: Evaluating Integrity Education and Its Impact – Lessons Learned in the Former SU and East European Countries (CEU, Budapest, Hungary).
On the second stage of the Project, in January, 2016, in order to assess their needs related to the integrity issues at GTU, Camp/School participants with the facilitation of the Trainer surveyed around 500 students of GTU through the School Report Cards questionnaire and analyzed the survey results. Among the surveyed there were students of the following faculties of GTU: Business-Engineering Faculty, Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering, and Faculty of Power Engineering and Telecommunication.
The Project was supported by Integrity Action in cooperation with GTU and implemented by the NGO Library-Cultural Centre for People with Disabilities “TANADGOMA” and GTU Associate Professor Khatuna Chapichadze. As a Guest Speaker of the Camp/School was invited Dr. Harutyun Aleksanyan, Europe & Central Asia Regional Manager, Integrity Education Network, Integrity Action.
