15-06-2010Italian Guests of Honor at GTU
On June 14, Mr. Silvano Pedrollo, owner of Pedrollo Spa, eminent Italian public man, the author of multiple educational programs and projects, prominent inventor, diplomat, entrepreneur and philanthropist as well as Roberto Reggiani, Deputy Director of the company and famous journalist Franco Ruffo were on a visit at GTU. The Rector of GTU, Prof. Archil Prangishvili welcomed the guests of honor. Representatives of GTU administration and academic council, Metropolitan Anania, as well as professors and students met the Italian guests as well. During the meeting Mr. Pedrollo was awarded Degree of Honorary Doctor of the Georgian Technical University by the Decision of the GTU Academic Council for his contribution to the University.
He also received a gift - his book published in three languages (Georgian, Russian, Italian) at GTU – “L’accua, Fonte di Vita” and Metropolytan presented him a book “history of the Georgian Apostolic Church”.
After the meeting Italian guests together with the rector and university administration members visited performance of GTU art collectives at the theatre-studio “Modinakhe”.
