The Energy Capacity Initiative 
Energy Scholarship Program (USA)
 
The Energy Capacity Initiative (TECI), sponsored by the USAID is implementing a merit-based competitive competitive scholarship program for individuals working in or interested in working in, Georgia’s energy sector. The competition is open to Georgian nationals who are:
 
  • Students who have earned an undergraduate degree, or will earned such degree by July 2009
  • Employees of Georgian Energy sector institutions, including government bodies, state- and privately-owned companies, and nongovernmental organizations.
 
Participants will be selected through an open, merit-based competition.
 
Scholarships are fully funded and will provide:
  • J-1 Visa support
  • Standardized testing (TOEFL, GRE) if required
  • Roundtrip travel from fellow’s home city to their host institution in the USA
  • Tuition and additional mandatory university fees for one year of study
  • Accident and sickness insurance
  • Monthly allowance for books
  • An orientation program
  • Pre-academic English-language training (if necessary)
