Energy Scholarship Program (USA)
The Energy Capacity Initiative (TECI), sponsored by the USAID is implementing a merit-based competitive competitive scholarship program for individuals working in or interested in working in, Georgia’s energy sector. The competition is open to Georgian nationals who are:
- Students who have earned an undergraduate degree, or will earned such degree by July 2009
- Employees of Georgian Energy sector institutions, including government bodies, state- and privately-owned companies, and nongovernmental organizations.
Participants will be selected through an open, merit-based competition.
Scholarships are fully funded and will provide:
- J-1 Visa support
- Standardized testing (TOEFL, GRE) if required
- Roundtrip travel from fellow’s home city to their host institution in the USA
- Tuition and additional mandatory university fees for one year of study
- Accident and sickness insurance
- Monthly allowance for books
- An orientation program
- Pre-academic English-language training (if necessary)
