Academician David Gurgenidze, the rector of the Georgian Technical University, on behalf of the university community, expresses his condolences to the family of Kuchukhidze, the Faculty of Construction and the Department of Hydrotechnics and Civil Engineering, over the death of researcher and teacher, Dimitri Kuchukhidze.
Dimitri Kuchukhidze, professor of the Department of Hydrotechnics and Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Construction of the Georgian Technical University, Scientist, researcher, and teacher who raised many successful and highly qualified generations, died at the age of 78.
Dimitri Kuchukhidze has been associated with the Georgian Technical University for 54 fruitful years, and during this time he was remembered by the university community and students as a highly qualified, great-natured colleague and an excellent teacher.

Dimitri Kuchukhidze was born in 1946. In 1970, he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute, the Faculty of Construction, specializing in heating, air supply and ventilation. In the same year, he started working at the Department of Heating, Air Supply, and Ventilation, and since 1985 he worked as a docent at the Georgian Technical University. From 2021 until now, he has been a professor at the Department of Hydrotechnics and Civil Engineering. His scientific interests were mainly issues of heating economy and ecology, in particular, issues of exhaust gas cleaning. He is the author of more than 20 works.
