The International Scientific Conference – 'Transport Bridge Europe-Asia' Was Opened at GTU
The VIII Georgian-Polish International Scientific Conference – “Transport Bridge Europe-Asia” was opened at the Georgian Technical University, organized by the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering of GTU. The partners are the Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland), Akaki Tsereteli State University, and the Institute of Machine Mechanics - named after Rafiel Dvali.

VIII Georgian-Polish International Scientific Conference was opened by the vice-rector of the Georgian Technical University. As Professor Tamar Tsereteli said, the chairman of the Scientific Committee of the VIII Georgian-Polish International Scientific Conference, which is an international scientific forum dedicated to solving problems related to private and public transport, is Academician David Gurgenidze, rector of the Georgian Technical University. 

“It is important that delegations from various educational institutions and business organizations attend the conference as speakers and guests. In total, more than 50 scientific reports and research results on topics related to the problems of the transport sector are presented. It should be noted that this year leading organizations of Georgian business in the field of transport “Avtotechno”, “Avtoban”, “Liontrans” and “Greenway” joined the conference for the first time.

I want to thank them for their support. It is important that within the conference framework, 12 different delegations from 6 countries visited the Georgian Technical University. I wish success to the conference participants”, announced Tamar Tsereteli. 

According to Professor Boris Githolendia, Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering of GTU, more than 50 scientific reports and research results were presented at the conference on the current situation, problems, and development trends in road, rail, sea, and air transport.

Also, dynamics of rolling stock and technological transport, issues of diagnostics, monitoring, technical condition and service of vehicles, information systems and transport technologies, intelligent transport systems, issues of transport and ecology, and other relevant topics.

“It is welcome that the conference is attended by delegations from Kočalin University of Technology, Bielsko-Biala University, Warsaw University of Military Technology, Szczecin Maritime University, Warsaw Technology University, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Silesia University of Technology, Vistula University, University of Ljubljana, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Delegations of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" University and the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I thank the guests and wish success to the conference participants”, said Boris Githolendia. 

Conference “Transport Bridge Europe-Asia”, is implemented in direct partnership and participation of Georgian business organization representatives – “Avtotechno”; “Autobahni”; “Liontrans” and “Greenway”.

The sessional work of the conference will continue on October 17th and is divided into two - Georgian and international sessional panels.

The conference will officially close on October 18th.

Within the framework of the conference, various social, cultural, and academic activities with the participation of Georgian and foreign academic staff are also planned.
