From September 16 to 20, GTU students were trained at the Gombori Military Training Center organized by “Youth and Veterans for National Defense and Security”.
At the Gombori Training Center, volunteers undergo special training in unique and demanding specialties; They also attend lectures on the law of armed conflicts, geopolitics, military history, information-psychological operations, and current armed conflicts.
They undergo training in fire operations and shooting, land navigation, and engineering training; They have the opportunity to attend a special course on first aid, emergency response, and communication; and study field preparation, ways and methods of self-preservation in extreme situations.
The center provides a comfortable and well-equipped infrastructure for volunteer students, so they can relax, do sports, and have fun in their free time.
Students who wish to participate in the next stream of the Gombori Training Center can apply for registration to the student self-government and the Department of Student Services, Culture and Sports of the Georgian Technical University, as well as to the student self-governments of the faculties. For information, the Gombori Training Center is an organization under the Ministry of Defense, jointly founded by the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, the State Service of Veterans Affairs, and the Generals’ Club in 2023.
The training center is based on Chapter XVII of the Defense Code – “Volunteering in the Defense” (Law of Georgia).
The training center aims to create a non-political structured unity of active and motivated citizens voluntarily to increase the country’s defense capability and ensure national security.
