The scientific council of the Institute of the Georgian Technical University “Techinform” announces an open competition for the position of the head of the scientific structural unit: the head of the Information Technology Development Department - 1 staff unit.

Applications will be accepted from October 3rd to October 7th, 2024, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, Kostava St. 47, “Techinform Institute”, 6th floor, room N18, contact person: Megi Tatarashvili, tel: 599 74 19 48, (032) 233 53 15.  

The scientific council of the institute will hold an interview and vote with the candidate(s) for the vacant position of the head of the scientific structural unit on October 9th, 2024.

The results of the voting will be announced by the scientific council immediately after the voting on October 9th and will be posted in a prominent place in the institute and published on the website of the institute: https://techinformi.ge/ge/ 

Statements/complaints regarding the violation of the rules of conducting the competition will be received by the Scientific Council until October 15th, 2024.

II. Competition conditions

The main conditions of the competition: 

The position of the head of the scientific structural unit of the institute can be held by a person who meets the requirements established for the chief scientific employee or senior scientific employee of this independent scientific research unit.

If the person doesn’t hold the position of chief scientific employee or senior scientific employee, in case of being elected to the position of the head of the
scientific structural unit of the institute, he/she is also considered to have been elected to the appropriate scientific position.

• The position of chief scientific employee can be held by a person who has a doctorate degree or an academic degree equivalent to it, with at least 6 years of experience in scientific and research activities;

• The position of senior scientific employee can be held by a person who has a doctorate degree or an academic degree equivalent to it;

Also, at least 6 years of scientific work experience in scientific-technical information, and at least two years of experience as a head of a department, group, or project.

During the last 5 years, the participant in the competition must have published scientific works in leading local and international journals, in the materials of international scientific conferences by the scientific direction of the department.

A person will be elected to the position of head of a scientific structural unit for a period of 5 years.

The person wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) present:

• Application and questionnaire drawn up and signed in the appropriate form (forms will be published on the website of the institute https://techinformi.ge/ge/), as well as documentation confirming the information presented in them: diploma, certificate, certificate, deed, certificate, etc. (original and copy);

• Scientific/academic qualification document (original and copy);

• Document(s) certifying scientific-research experience (long-term experience) verified by the seal of the relevant organization/institution;

• List of scientific and educational-methodological works, certified by the signature and seal of a competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if any);

• ID card (original and photocopy);

• 2 photos 3X4;

• Certificate of Conviction for committing a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and notice of the Rights Deprivation.

Note: The person who has already submitted the mentioned references to the University Human Capital Management Department is exempted from presenting the references.

III. Rules of conducting the competition

The competition will be held by the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education”, the university's regulations, and the “Rule of recruitment of scientific personnel of the Institute “Techinform”, which the contestants will familiarize themselves with the scientific council, on the websites of the university and the institute;

The scientific council will take into account: the conformity of the contestant’s qualification and competence with the competitive position, including scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merit corresponding to the profile of the competitive position; Also (according to the decision of the Scientific Council) the results of the interview conducted with the contestant(s);

The results of the competition can be appealed in court, according to the applicable legislation.
