At the Georgian Technical University, another open information meeting about grant competitions for researchers of university faculties and scientific research institutes was held, organized by the Office of Technologies and Grant Projects and the Georgian National Office of “Horizon Europe”.
Within the framework of the meeting, the representatives of the Georgian national office of “Horizon Europe” talked about the opportunities that WIDERA, as part of its ERA (European Research Area), offers to scientists and researchers.
Tamar Lominadze, the Deputy Rector of the Georgian Technical University in the scientific field, Ketevan Kokrashvili, also the Head of the Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and Levan Khetsuriani, the Head of the National Office of “Horizon Europe” (European Commission Research and Innovation Program) addressed the audience at the meeting.
They talked about the goals of the program and support for the involvement of Georgian scientists in international projects.
As Tamar Lominadze, deputy rector of the GTU, noted, information days organized by “Horizon Europe – Georgia” are a great opportunity for scientists and researchers.
Such meetings and, accordingly, grant competitions help university scientists in research development and increase the possibilities of integrating scientific processes in the university into the international space.
“The Georgian Technical University has gathered many innovative ideas and inventions, which need to be realized and promoted in the innovative product creation. Accordingly, “Horizon Europe” and collaboration with our European partners provide an excellent opportunity for development in this direction.
Funding obtained from European funds contributes to the implementation of innovative research and inventions in the faculties of the Georgian Technical University and our research institutes,”, noted Tamar Lominadze.
As the head of the Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia - Ketevan Kokrashvili said, Georgian Technical University is one of the most successful in the “Horizon Europe” grant competitions.
“The Georgian Technical University has won the most projects among the Georgian universities. This fact once again confirms the development possibilities of this university and its sustainability”, noted Ketevan Kokrashvili.
At the information meeting held at the GTU, the head of the Georgian national office of “Horizon Europe” - Levan Khetsuriani, spoke about the new ERA (European Research Area) competitions. As he mentioned, with the strong alignment of ERA’s research policies and programs, European countries become more efficient in the research sector.
ERA prioritizes investments and reforms in research and innovation.
The University Office of Technologies and Grant Projects regularly holds open informational meetings to support the grant activities of the academic and scientific staff and students of Georgian Technical University.
