At the Georgian Technical University of Georgia, within the framework of the week of events dedicated to the International Children’s Day Protection, with the initiative and support of the rector, academician David Gurgenidze, and the organization of the GTU Women’s Association, a charity event was held.
A charity event dedicated to International Children’s Day Protection was celebrated in the public theater studio of GTU – “Modinakhe”. Amateur actor students presented to the audience with Nodar Dumbadze’s performance – “Gypsies”.
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University addressed the event participants with a welcome speech. He noted in a speech, that International Children’s Day and the events dedicated to this day emphasize raising awareness of children’s rights.
As academician David Gurgenidze stated, the programs operating in the state ensure the future of teenagers as much as possible, and the government is successfully working to eliminate the existing challenges.
“It has become a tradition, at the Georgian Technical University, to hold events dedicated to International Children’s Day. Every day belongs to a child; they are the next generation, and we must make every effort to create a peaceful environment for them to learn and develop. I’d like to thank the director and actors of the People’s Theater Studio, the organizers of the event, for today’s beautiful day. The Georgian Technical University will always support such large-scale charity actions. International Children’s Day, to which today’s charity event is dedicated, I want to congratulate all children and wish them to fulfill their dreams and goals”, said David Gurgenidze.
In connection with International Children’s Day Protection, the chairman of the women’s association of the university, Professor Nazi Kutsiava, presented souvenirs to the guests - children of large families living in the capital city, young representatives of families of refugees from Abkhazia, students of public schools who have relations with the Georgian Technical University, and children of the large families of the Lithuanian community.
Professor Nazi Kutsiava thanked the rector of the university, the director, and the actors of the public theater studio – “Modinakhe” for their support. the Georgian Technical University celebrates International Children’s Day annually with grand events and charity actions.
“With the support of the rector of the Georgian Technical University, the Women’s Association of GTU invited families with many children, school students, representatives of the Lithuanian community, as well as children and grandchildren of our university employees to the public theater studio of the university. “Modinakhe” performed an excellent performance.

For information: the week dedicated to International Children’s Day at the Georgian Technical University was opened on June 1, with a charity event in the mother-tongue garden of the “Niko Nikoladze Club”. On the same day, an event was held within the framework of the Fourth International Festival of Tbilisi Children’s and Youth Theaters named after Gogi Todadze. Within the framework of events to International Children’s Day, the university will hold several more charity events.
