GGSB Lecture Week 2023

08-05-2023

On June 26-30, 2023, within the framework of the "Georgian-German Scientific Bridge - GGSB" concept, an updated course of lectures will be held at member universities of the consortium (TU, TSU, SAU). This is a continuation of the "Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi" project. The topics of the lectures include physics (medical physics, nuclear physics, nanotechnologies and others), chemistry, energy, engineering and technological directions.

The right to participate in the project is given to students (4th year of bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctoral degree) of consortium member universities (GTU, TSU, Agrouni, Ilyauni and KSU) from Georgia. Target groups will be selected in two stages. At the first stage, interested students must submit a CV and a motivation letter in English (knowledge of the English language is mandatory). Those wishing to participate in the project should apply to the Engineering Physics Department of Georgian Technical University to Prof. Mikheil Chikhradze and Mrs. Eka Megrelishvili. Contact numbers: 577 393 500 (Mikhail), 593 900 986 (Eka); m.chikhradze@gtu.ge, e.megrelishvili@gtu.ge; Students must submit documentation by May 31, 2023.

In the second stage, students will be finally selected by a panel of Georgian/German supervisors and institute directors through an interview and will receive individual grants for internships in German institutes for several weeks (FZJ, GSI, HZDR, RWTH Aachen). Initial information about the program can be found at: http://www.fz-juelich.gtu.ge/autumn-lectures/2023/about-event

It should be noted that traditional "workshops and summer schools" (so-called GGSWBS) have been held in Georgian universities for years. The mentioned events started in 2004 and, despite the interruptions during the pandemic, were renewed again in 2022, within the framework of which the leading scientists of FZJ institutes (IEK, IKP, INM, PGI) conduct theoretical and practical trainings for Georgian students.
