Project InnoCENS - Workshop on Innovation Systems at KTH

On 1-10 June, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Sweden) was conducted the workshop on Swedish innovation systems within Erasmus+ Project  InnoCENS (Project #573965-EPP-1-2016-1-SE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).

The main objective of the project is to enhance innovation competences and entrepreneurial skills in engineering education through university-business cooperation in order to support creation of new enterprises, new jobs and economic growth in the partner countries. The project includes 8 technical universities in Georgia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan.

About 24 participants from 4 partner countries attended the training course, with 2 persons from each partner country university and 1 person from each non-university partner organization.

The Workshop at Swedish KTH Royal Institute of Technology (project coordinator) was designed mainly on Swedish innovation systems and for the development of master course syllabus about Innovation Systems and Entrepreneurship for Engineers on the basis of KTH experience in this field.

During the workshop were discussed the issues related to Swedish national innovation policy and entrepreneurship in regional development, technology-based entrepreneurship.

Herewith at study visit to KTH Innovation was provided Introduction to KTH Innovation: organization and business development model, the role of business development coaches, pre-incubator activities and student startups.

Project participants got acquainted with the activities of Kista Science City, Uppsala Innovation Center (UIC) and SSE Business Lab at Stockholm School of Economics within study visits there as well.

GTU was represented by Lasha Iosebidze (International Relations and Standards Office) and Assistant Professor Boris Gitolendia (Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering).
