The training course “Innovative Competencies: How to Improve Entrepreneurial and Innovative Skills” was held at the Georgian Technical University under the auspices of the Erasmus+ grant program KA2 activity LISS24 (Learn – Innovate – Sell – Succeed), an institutional strengthening project.
The course covered the main topics of innovative and entrepreneurial business idea generation techniques and business modeling, theoretical frameworks of entrepreneurship, and practical exercises, within which the academic staff of the Entrepreneurship Management Program of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering and invited trainers conducted sessions for students of various faculties of GTU on the following topics: Entrepreneurship in a global environment and modern trends; Case studies of successful innovative businesses; Market research and identification of customer needs; Innovative competencies and their impact on entrepreneurial business; Creative idea generation techniques - brainstorming; Budgeting of entrepreneurial projects; Group problem-solving procedure and design thinking; Business model development and value proposition refinement; Presentation skills and preparation for competitions.
According to Professor Boris Githolendia, Dean of the GTU Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, during the training program, students worked on various entrepreneurial projects based on the Canva business model. They presented project presentations at the final stage of the training.
“Within the framework of the project, at the end of May of this year, another training seminar on the topic “B2B Sales Management” is also planned, and also in the same year, for the first time in Georgia, a “Sales Competition” will be held within the framework of the project, which will be hosted by the Georgian Technical University. The LISS24 project is an Erasmus+ KA2 activity grant institutional development project and aims to increase innovative competencies in engineering education. In particular, engineering and other program students were introduced to a culture of teaching the so-called “Sales” of products by strengthening B2B sales competence. Within the framework of the LISS24 project, it is planned to introduce training courses and organize an education-oriented sales laboratory (Sales Lab), which will be launched at the Georgian Technical University within the framework of the project,” states Gitolendia.
The training course participants were awarded with relevant certificates. Any GTU student who has innovative entrepreneurial ideas and wants to turn them into real business projects could participate in the event.

The project “Learn - Improve - Sell - Achieve Success” is funded within the framework of the KA 102 activity of the European Union Erasmus+ program and will be completed in 2026.
