Competition for Scientific Positions Has Been Announced
The Scientific Council of the Archil Eliashvili Institute of Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for filling the following scientific positions:

  • Linguistic Modeling Department: Research employee – 1.0 staff unit
  • Vakhtang Gomelauri Department of Energy Systems Structure and Power Plant Optimization: Chief Research employee – 0.5 staff unit
  • Mindia Salukvadze Department of Systems Identification and Optimal Control: Research employee – 2 (0.5 staff unit)
Applications will be accepted from February 17th, 2025 to February 19th, 2025 inclusive, from 10:00 to 17:00 hours, at the address: Tbilisi, Mindeli St. N10, Archil Eliashvili Institute of Management Systems, 4th floor, room N1, responsible person Ketevan Kvirikashvili, tel: 032 231 98 74.

The competition will be held on February 21st, 2025. The initial results of the competition will be published no later than February 21st, 2025, by the competition commission in a visible place and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition rules will be accepted by the competition commission until February 26th, 2025 inclusive.

Additional information for those wishing to participate in the competition (contestant’s application form, application, time, and place of the interview) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

a) The position of Chief Scientific employee may be held by a person with a doctorate or an equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of experience in scientific research. The Chief Scientific employee must be familiar with the problems and directions of scientific research development; local and foreign achievements in relevant fields of science; and modern methods and means of organizing and conducting scientific research. Over the past 10 years, he/she must have published at least 10 scientific works (monograph and/or article in a scientific journal and/or in proceedings of a local and international scientific conference), of which at least 3 are in the department scientific direction in which the contestant intends to apply; in internationally peer-reviewed and refereed publications and/or in proceedings of an international conference.

b) A person with a master’s or an equivalent academic degree can hold the position of a scientific employee. A scientific employee must be familiar with the goals and objectives of the research and explorations underway with his/her participation; scientific research of similar content in Georgia and abroad; and modern methods of processing, generalizing, and organizing research. He/she must have published at least one scientific paper.
A person will be elected to the position of a scientist (chief scientific employee, scientific employee) for 5 years.

A person wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) submit: 

a) duly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms will be published on the Institute’s website), as well as documentation confirming the information presented in them: diploma, certificate, deed, reference, etc. (original and copy);

b) document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

c) document(s) confirming scientific research experience (internship) certified by the seal of the relevant organization/institution;

d) List of scientific and educational-methodical works, certified by the signature and seal of the competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if any);

e) Identity card (original and photocopy);

f) 2 photographs 3X4;

g) Certificate of conviction for committing a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate of deprivation of rights.

Note: A person who has already submitted the aforementioned certificates to the Human Capital Management Department of the University is exempt from submitting the certificates.

III. Rules for conducting the competition

  • The competition will be held according to the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, the University Regulations, and the Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel of the “Archil Eliashvili Institute of Management Systems”, which the contestants will familiarize themselves with in the competition commission, on the university and institute websites;
  • The competition commission will consider the correspondence of the contestant’s qualifications and competence to the competitive position, including scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits relevant to the profile of the competitive position; as well as (by decision of the commission) the results of the interview conducted with the contestant(s);
  • The results of the competition can be appealed in court according to the applicable legislation.
