“At the Faculty of Energy at Georgian Technical University are ongoing that international scientific and research projects, significant infrastructure upgrades, and establishing modern-standard laboratories. Currently, there are 141 students enrolled, including 95 in bachelor’s programs, 41 in master’s programs, and 5 doctoral students. Many of these students actively participated in the Erasmus+ exchange program during the 2024/2025 academic year”, emphasized the dean of the Faculty of Energy, Professor Ketevan Kutateladze.

Kutateladze highlighted that important infrastructure projects have been implemented this academic year to enhance the teaching and research process at the Faculty of Energy. Notably, three lecture halls have been renovated and equipped with modern technologies. Additionally, a new electromagnetism laboratory has been established specifically for the bachelor’s program in “Electrical and Electronic Engineering” within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics.

Professor Ketevan Kutateladze, the newly elected Dean of the Faculty of Energy, emphasized the increasing significance of the energy sector in light of global climate challenges, the need for energy security, the utilization of renewable energy sources, and the advancement of energy-efficient technologies. She stated that the Faculty of Energy at the Georgian Technical University is poised to make substantial contributions to addressing these critical issues. With a history of 103 years, the faculty has successfully fulfilled its mission of preparing engineering and scientific personnel in line with international educational standards.

“Being elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Energy is both a great honor and a significant responsibility to the students, professors, administration, and the university as a whole. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the former Dean, Professor Lena Shatakishvili, under whose leadership, and with the support of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, our faculty has made remarkable progress in both educational and research activities. I am thankful to the academic and administrative staff, as well as the students, for their support and confidence in my candidacy. As the newly elected Dean, my vision is anchored in the following priorities: 1. Strengthening Academic and Research Capabilities, I will promote the development of innovative research projects, enhance our laboratory facilities, and integrate students into research activities; 2. Deepening International Cooperation; The faculty will engage in international educational and scientific networks to facilitate knowledge transfer and the establishment of modern standards. 3. Supporting the Professional Development of Young Staff; We will focus on supporting students and young researchers in their professional growth and career development.

I am confident that with our collective efforts and the support of the Rector, the Faculty of Energy at Georgian Technical University will continue to strengthen its position both domestically and internationally,” stated Ketevan Kutateladze.
