Within the framework of the cycle of pre-Christmas events in the direction of social responsibility, Georgian Technical University held another charity campaign.
With the initiative and support of the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Management Systems, Professor Taliko Zhvania, representatives of the faculty - professors: Lili Petriashvili, Nona Otkhozoria, Tinatin Kaishauri and Davit Kapanadze, as well as the head of the GTU Women’s Association, Professor Nazi Kutsiava, donated first aid and personal hygiene items, as well as products, to the beneficiaries of the „Imedi“ Boarding house and the “Gabriel Beri” Nursing Home for the Elderly and Disabled.
As the head of the GTU Women’s Association Nazi Kutsiava noted, with the support of the rector, academician David Gurgenidze, the faculties of GTU, with the Women’s Association, hold various charity events for the beneficiaries of the nursing home as part of the Christmas events.
„The Women’s Association“ joined the faculty charity event of Informatics and Management Systems. We provided about 80 elderly living in two nursing homes with necessary products and personal hygiene products for Christmas. The Divine Child with his birth, reborn us all in grace and immortality. May the kindness that the Georgian Technical University does in the format of charity events illuminate the way for us and those people for whom grace is necessary for the healing of the soul and body“, stated Nazi Kutsiava.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Management Systems of GTU, teachers and students participated in the charity event.
„Only divine grace can make people better. Every year we try to help the ones who need it most. Today we made about 80 elderly people happy. We can’t express in words the joy we saw in the eyes of these people. The most important thing for me is that students participated in the event. Thank you to them and the university, the rector, and academician David Gurgenidze for their support“, said Taliko Zhvania.
Giorgi Kvaratskhelia, the head of the boarding house „Imedi“, and Natia Kipiani, the manager of the Gabriel Beri Home for the Elderly and Disabled, thanked the Georgian Technical University and the event participants.
They said that the university regularly takes care of vulnerable groups of our society, such as beneficiaries of nursing homes.
