A New Cycle of Seminars “ABET Accreditation Standards and Challenges” Is Starting at GTU
On November 11-22, a new cycle of intra-university, online seminars (6 seminars) are held at the Georgian Technical University organized by the International Accreditation Center. 

The head of the seminar “ABET Accreditation Standards and Challenges” is the head of the International Accreditation Center, Professor Irine Gotsiridze. 

The seminars aim to familiarize the academic staff of the Georgian Technical University with the concept of international ABET accreditation, the accreditation process, ABET standards, and admission procedures.

The following topics will be discussed during the seminars:

  • ABET standards and acceptance procedures;
  • ABET standards for accreditation of engineering programs;
  • ABET self-assessment report;
  • Mechanisms for evaluating student learning outcomes in relation to ABET criteria;
  • Effectiveness of evaluation of learning outcomes of the program with rubrics;
  • Organizing documents for the ABET accreditation assessment team;
  • How to prepare for the ABET assessment
