The Scientific Council of the Georgian Technical University named after I. Jordania Center for the Study of Production Forces and Natural Resources announces an open competition for the following scientific position:

Department of Land, Water and Forest Resources:

Chief scientific employee (0.5 staff units).

  • Applications will be accepted from December 5th to December 11th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., at the address: Tbilisi, M. Kostava Street N67, GTU 10th educational building, fifth floor, room N503, I. Jordania Center for the study of production forces and natural resources of Georgia, responsible person: R. Firtskhalava, Tel: 599 46 93 07.
  • The competition will be held on December 11th, 2024. The initial competition results will be published no later than December 11th, 2024, by the competition commission in a prominent place and on the website center. 
  • Statements/complaints regarding the violation of the rules of conducting the competition will be received by the competition commission until December 16th, 2024.
  • To participate in the competition, additional information (contestant's questionnaire, application, time, and place of the interview) will be published on the website center.

II. Competition conditions.

The main conditions of the competition:

  • The position of chief scientific employee can be held by a person who has a doctor’s degree or an academic degree equivalent to it, with at least 6 years of experience in scientific and research activities;
  • A person will be elected to the position of a scientist (chief scientific employee) for a period of 5 years.
  • Those wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) present:

a) duly prepared and signed application and questionnaire (the forms will be published on the center website), as well as the documents confirming the information presented in them: diploma, certificate, certificate, deed, certificate, etc. (original and copy);

b) document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

c) document(s) certifying scientific-research experience (experience) certified by the seal of the relevant organization/institution;

d) list of scientific and educational-methodological works, certified by the signature and seal of a competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if any);

e) ID card (original and photocopy);

f) 2 photographs 3X4;

g) Notice of conviction for committing a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and notice of deprivation of rights. 

Note: The person who has already submitted the mentioned references to the university human capital management department is exempted from presenting the references.

III. Rules of conducting the competition.

  • The competition will be held according to the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education”, the university’s regulation, and the “Rule of Recruitment of Scientific Personnel of the I. Jordania Georgian Center for the Study of Production Forces and Natural Resources”, which the contestant will familiarize himself/herself within the competition commission, on the websites of the university and the center;
  • The competition commission will consider: the conformity of the contestant’s qualification and competence with the competitive position, including the relevant scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merit of the competitive position profile; Also (according to the commission’s decision) the results of the interview conducted with the contestant(s);
  • Competition results can be appealed in court, according to the applicable legislation.
