The Georgian Technical University rector, academician David Gurgenidze, based on the decision of the Academic Council, awarded David Natroshvili - the professor of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University, the member-correspondent of the International Computer Academy, the author of more than 230 scientific articles and 9 scientific monographs, 7 textbooks, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics with the GTU gold medal for his special contribution to the university.
The rector of the Georgian Technical University presented the “Gold Medal” to David Natroshvili at the academic council meeting.
As academician David Gurgenidze noted in his speech, David Natroshvili raised many worthy generations and made a huge contribution to the successful activities of the Georgian Technical University.
According to the rector, David Natroshvili is a world-class mathematician who has worked in the world’s leading universities at different times. He was engaged in scientific-pedagogical activities in Germany: in the universities of Chemnitz, Stuttgart, Darmstadt, Göttingen, Berlin, Oberwolfach, Braunschweig, Karlsruhe, Hamburg, Freiburg, Potsdam, Saarbrucken, and Munich.
In England: at the universities of London, Bath, Glasgow, Manchester, Salford, Leeds, Reading, Brunel, and Sussex. In Italy, at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; At the University of Aveiro in Portugal.
At the universities of Oklahoma (Tulsa), Delaware (Newark), Rochester, Michigan, USA; In Warsaw Institute of Mechanics in Poland; In France: Sorbonne University, Paris Polytechnic Institute, Saint-Etienne University.
In China: Beijing and Shanghai Universities, Athens University in Greece, Cantabria University (Santander) in Spain, Zurich Technical University in Switzerland, Tehran University in Iran, and Sofia and Ruse Universities in Bulgaria.
“Considering the merits of the world-famous mathematician David Natroshvili to the Georgian Technical University and the country, the academic council decided to award the meritorious teacher and scientist with the highest award of the university - the Gold Medal.

“Gold Medal” is awarded by the decision of the university academic council, based on the rector’s submission. Since its inception, more than 70 people have been awarded the GTU award, including Georgian and foreign citizens.
