“Dante’s Office” based on the Georgian Technical University, offers students and employees of the university a unique opportunity to study the Italian language for free in the 2024-2025 academic year.
The international project is being implemented in partnership with the Dante Alighieri Society and the Georgian Technical University.
Free Italian language courses are mainly intended for students of the Georgian Technical University who want to learn the Italian language with the following goals:
- Continuing studies in Italian higher education institutions;
-
Participation in Erasmus+ exchange programs;
-
At the end of the course, in case of passing the exams, receiving the ADA (Dante Alighieri Society certificate);
-
Obtaining the international certificate of Italian language proficiency, PLIDA.
The international project is implemented in partnership with the Dante Alighieri Society and the Georgian Technical University. The project is funded by the Rome headquarters of the International Network of the Dante Alighieri Society.
The implementation of the project – “To promote the activities of the “Dante’s Office” based on the Georgian Technical University, to offer interdisciplinary Italian language training to the students of GTU” - started in 2022 and will continue as a second cycle during the 2024-2025 academic year, within the funding obtained by the Dante Alighieri Society-Tbilisi Committee in the grant project.
The project envisages the study of the Italian language at the level of competence A1-A2 during 2 semesters. 90 trainees (students and employees) enrolled in free courses through competition will have the opportunity to become both a card-holder member of the Dante Alighieri Society World Network and an ADA listener of the Italian language international course without leaving the country.
Students for the free Italian language course will be selected through an open competition in which students of any faculty or employees of the Georgian Technical University can participate (a maximum of 15 employees).
The free Italian language courses will be conducted using the hybrid teaching method, which will allow students to learn the Italian language both online and in the auditorium space.
Important information regarding the first and second cycle of the project:
Since, within the framework of the grant project, the second cycle of free Italian language training is offered to 90 students (students or employees) of GTU, those students who have completed the first cycle of the project in the 2022-2023 academic year will be given the opportunity again to participate in the competition and continue their studies at the A2-B1 level, already knowing Italian at A1 level (maximum 15 listeners, students or employees of GTU).
Those who wish to study the Italian language can learn about the conditions of participation in the competition in detail and register for the course at the link: see here.
