“Today’s modern labor market requires highly qualified specialists who are ready to face any challenge - the challenges that arise in an increasingly competitive environment. The introduction of dual approaches in higher education will help raise the competence of graduates according to the needs of employers, as well as increase the motivation to study and improve the employability of graduates.

In addition, it will increase access to higher education for students from low-income families. The DUGEOR program serves to solve these issues.

Dual higher education, together with classical education, will give the advantage to graduates to acquire relevant practical knowledge and skills, which requires a great deal of involvement from the employing companies. The dual system is not only a specific model of education policy but, on the one hand, it is a guarantee of strategic cooperation between social partners, and on the other hand, it promotes the development of industries. This is the program of the future, and it is no coincidence that the Georgian Technical University is actively involved in this grand project, with the support of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze,” said Tamar Lominadze.

The coordinator of the program, Professor Mirko Savich of the University of Novi Sad addressed the conference participants with a welcome speech and wished Georgian universities success in the direction of introducing dual education.
