The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze met with FESTO DADACTIC SE’s Executive Vice President of Global Education and Head of Regional Management in Africa, Nader Iman.

The meeting was attended by: Chairman of the Supervisory Board (President) Professor Lavrenti Gudavadze; Deputy Rector in the field of Science, Professor Tamar Lominadze; Acting Head of International Relations Department Tea Murvanidze; Head of Educational Programs Center, Associate Professor Eka Nareshelashvili; Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Management Systems, Professor Taliko Zhvania; Deputy Dean, Professor Lili Petriashvili; Also, Didem Ozkan, global sales manager of FESTO DADACTIC SE, DENKENDORF and Mikheil Kvesitadze, founder and director of “Softmaster” company. The parties discussed the opening of the educational-scientific research center based on the university and further cooperation.

As the rector of the Georgian Technical University, academician David Gurgenidze noted, the promotion and support of vocational education is one of the priority directions of the state, and it is assigned one of the important roles within the reform of the education system, which confirms the fact that 27 vocational education programs are implemented at the GTU. Among them are air conditioning; logistics of cargo shipments; office work; organization of the event; repair of the vehicle’s electrical system; car engine repair; sewing production; production of footwear and leather goods; customs case; performing graphic design; artistic processing of wood; railway shipments; print media technologies; mechanical engineering technician; mechatronics; industrial automation; high voltage electrician; mining technician; mining electromechanics; specialist in the technology of beneficiation of solid minerals; dyer; plasterer; information technology support; viticulture; beekeeping; Accounting.

As Academician David Gurgenidze said, with the support of the government, the funding of the Millennium Challenge Fund-Georgia, and the partnership with BP Georgia, a vocational school of analytical instruments was opened and is operating in the university, which is equipped with modern, European standards technologies.
