The professor of the Saarland University of Technology and Economics, and Honorary Doctor of GTU, Wilhelm Hauser held a public lecture – “Economic crime” at the Faculty of Business
Technologies of the Georgian Technical University.
The public lecture was attended by students and professors of the Georgian Technical University and accredited universities in Georgia.
Within the framework of the public lecture – “Economic crime”, Professor Wilhelm Hauser, based on the German legal framework, discussed cases of investment fraud, financial, bankruptcy, the crime existence in a calculation, competition, labor, and organized crime.
“Organized crime is one of the most complex and dangerous forms of criminal activity. Organized crime has various manifestations, such as economic crime, kidnapping of a person or property to obtain material benefits purpose, human trafficking (trafficking), illegal trade in drugs, firearms, explosives and antiques, smuggling, and fraud. Organized crime groups are involved in corruption and money laundering. The development of organized crime is facilitated by improper public awareness. The most vulnerable layers of society are adolescents and representatives of socially vulnerable groups, who for various reasons can easily fall under the influence of the criminal world. Within the framework of the public lecture, we will discuss the composition of economic crime, and we will try to use examples to make it more visible and how we can protect the society”, said Wilhelm Hauser.
