Within the framework of the 88th open international scientific conference of students at the Georgian Technical University, the commission consisting of scientists and researchers identified the winning students of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy.

According to this information, six sections of students are working at the faculty under the auspices of the 88th open international scientific conference. The chemical and biological engineering section includes materials science and Metallurgy, pharmacy, chemistry, food production engineering, environmental engineering, and ecology.
Five students participated in the section on chemical and biological engineering. Based on the points awarded by the commission members, the winners were identified, bachelor’s degree: 1st place - Aidan Pashaeva. Master’s degree: 1st place - Mariam Gurashidze; 2nd place - Elene Chikhladze; 3rd place - Nana Bukia. Doctorate: 1st place - Giorgi Andriadze.
Seven students participated in the metallurgy-material science section. Based on the points awarded by the members of the commission, the winners were identified, bachelor’s degree: 1st place - Mariam Tumanishvili; 2nd place - Nino Kapanadze, Giorgi Samkharadze; 3rd place - Nikoloz Kirvalidze.
Fourteen students of the undergraduate educational program of the “Pharmacy” department participated in the pharmacy section. The winners are Bachelor: 1st place - Ia Gzirishvili, Manana Samsonashvili; 2nd place - Ilakha Alekberova, Gunel Karaeva; 3rd place - Giorgi Maisuradze. Master’s degree: 1st place - Mariami Korkotashvili; 2nd place - Nino Nikuradze; 3rd place - Tatia Khuskivadze.
Students of all three levels of education – bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral - participated in the chemistry section. Prize places were distributed as follows: Bachelor’s degree: 1st place - Tamar Chagunava; 2nd place - Giorgi Gachechiladze, Salome Shavadze; 3rd place - Ilona Shekiladze, Mzia Gogiashvili.
Master's degree: 1st place - Luka Gogichashvili; 2nd place - Nino Davitashvili; 3rd place - Rusudan Zedginidze. Doctorate: 1st place - Tamar Kenchoshvili
It should be noted that teachers and students of Kaspi municipality, Akhalkalaki village public school, and Kutaisi 5th public school as guests took part in the work of the section, who presented very interesting reports. Certificates of honor were presented to the guests.
Six undergraduate students participated in the food production engineering section. The winners were: 1st place - Ketevan Kekelia; 2nd place - Maka Tkachenko; 3rd place - Ketevan Kikolashvili.
In the environmental engineering section, at the competitive work session, five undergraduate students gave presentations on the topic selected by the authors. The students represented four different faculties of GTU: Faculties of Mountain Sustainable Development, Energy, Construction and Chemical Technology and Metallurgy. After listening to all the presentation works prepared by the students, the head of the section, associate Professor Jimsher Kerkadze, introduced to the audience the summary final results obtained by the competition jury consisting of 5 members:
The 1st place was awarded to a student of the Faculty of Mountain Sustainable Development - Ana Shaorshadze, for her highly relevant paperwork “Biodegradable plastics” aimed at contemporary issues.
The 2nd place was taken by Nikoloz Nemsitsveridze, a student of the Faculty of Energy, whose paperwork “War and Environment” was distinguished from others by its thematic originality.
Nino Terashvili, a student of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, took 3rd place with the paperwork “In search of missing fresh water” in which several informative technological innovations were presented.
For information: more than 530 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of thirteen faculties of the university are participating in the 88th open international scientific conference of students. The conference includes 56 sections, among them 4 sections will work at the Faculty of Construction and 25 students will present their work; at the Faculty of Energy - 8 sections, 67 students; at the Faculty of Mining and Geology - 2 sections, 41 students; at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy - 6 sections, 62 students; at the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering - 6 sections, 54 students; at the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design - 2 sections, 18 students;
At the Faculty of Law and International Relations - 1 section, 21 students; at the faculties of Law and International Relations, as well as Engineering Economy, Media Technologies and Social Sciences, in the inter-faculty section - 23 students; at the Informatics and Control Systems - 8 sections, 90 students; International School of Design - 1 section, 3 students; at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems Engineering - 5 sections, 45 students; at the Faculty of Business Technologies - 4 sections, 23 students; at the faculty of engineering economy, media technologies and social sciences - 7 sections, 30 students; at the Faculty of Mountain Sustainable Development - 1 section, 21 students.
The 88th Open International Scientific Conference of GTU students started on April 29 and will last until May 17. The award ceremony for the winners will be held on June 14.
