Within the framework of the “Erasmus+” grant project – “Promotion of professional education and student engagement through the mentoring and tutoring system in higher educational institutions” (PROMENT) a meeting of representatives of participating countries’ universities was held at the Technical University of Georgia.

Together with the Technical University of Georgia, the following participated in the event: Lviv Polytechnic University (Ukraine), Vienna University of Technology (Austria), Perugia University (Italy), Silesian University of Technology (Poland), Shota Rustaveli University of Batumi (Georgia), Chernihiv National Polytechnic University (Ukraine), Petro Mohyla Black Sea University (Ukraine), Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine).

According to Thea Murvanidze, head of the Technology and Grant Projects Office of the Technical University of Georgia, the PROMENT project aims to develop the relevant professional competencies of students, as well as civic engagement.

“Within the framework of the project, European university representatives shared their experience in mentoring and tutoring, which envisages the opening of tutoring and mentoring centers in all partner universities. It is a completely innovative approach. In the first stage, 12 mentoring schemes will be implemented, where the methodology of teaching, also mentoring, and tutoring will be described in detail. The pilot schemes cover such issues as professional mentoring; mentoring and tutoring for internally displaced students; startup mentoring; green environment; local government scheme; digital mentoring; Mentoring of first-year students; Gender Mentoring (Women in Science); International tutoring and mentoring for students continuing their studies abroad; mentoring a young teacher; mentoring the foreign students; Mentoring the people with disabilities”, said Tea Murvanidze.

Summarizing the meeting held at the Technical University of Georgia, the rector, academician Davit Gurgenidze, in his comment, noted that PROMENT is one of the most important projects that allows students to be actively involved in university and civic life and also has a positive impact on raising the level of education.


“The Technical University of Georgia hosts the representatives, rectors, vice-rectors, and scientists of the universities of the participating countries of the “Erasmus+” grant project – “Promotion of professional education and student engagement through the mentoring and tutoring system in higher educational institutions”. The participants of the event shared their experiences, which were accumulated during the project. Each of us is focused on providing them with a European standard of education and the promotion of career advancement. It is our main task as scientists and teachers. I am glad that, despite the current situation, our Ukrainian colleagues are participating in the meeting. I wish them peace. It is noteworthy and welcome that a tutoring and mentoring center was opened at the Technical University of Georgia within the framework of the event. I wish all of you the best of luck”, said Davit Gurgenidze.

Within the framework of the “Erasmus+” grant project – “Promotion of professional education and student engagement through the mentoring and tutoring system in higher educational institutions” (PROMENT), representatives of the universities of the participating countries shared their experiences on such issues as student incentive programs, career and psychological counseling of students, mentoring, organization of exchange program students, promotion and promotion of science and higher education, teaching based on international projects and others.
