„University Capacity Building Programme“ (UCBP)
Within the framework of the „University Capacity Building Programme“ (UCBP), in 2022, the head of the University Quality Assurance Service visited the United States on a study tour. Within the context of the study tour, 36 official meetings were held at top US universities, research centres, and other organisations involved in technological transfer. A study of successful experiences in the areas of technical transfer and research commercialization was conducted.
As part of the same programme, the university welcomed a professor from Long Island University (USA), Bhaskar Das, who was on a 6-day working visit at GTU on the invitation of the university's quality assurance service. During the tour, GTU scientists, students, and members of the university's academic, support, and administrative organisations participated in trainings, seminars, and workshops on innovation, technology transfer, and research commercialization. During the visit, a combined seminar on "Research funding, technology transfer and commercialization (key matters and tools)" was conducted for university staff by the Head of Quality Assurance Service at GTU and an American professor. As listeners, around 600 university officials attended the aforementioned events.
The American Councils of International Education organised the „University Capacity Building Programme - UCBP“ with financial help from the US Embassy in Georgia.
