On 5 May, at the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Georgian Academy of Sciences hosted an International Scientific Seminar “Modern Land Reclamation (Amelioration) Problems against the backdrop of Climate Change in Georgia”.
Professors and researchers of GTU Tsotne Mirtskhulava Water Management Institute together with scientists and experts from Georgia, Estonia, Russia and USA participated in the event. Prof. Givi Gavardashvili, Director of the Institute welcomed the participants. Academician Otar Natishvili, Head of the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences discussed the recent problems existing in agricultural sector of Georgia.
Prof. Givi Gavardashvili presented his new textbook “Irrigation, Drainage, Erosion”.
At the end of the seminar was held the discussion and made resolution considering the active cooperation of scientists from Georgia and three Baltic countries in the field of agricultural land reclamation (amelioration) and development of mutual project proposal for “Horizon 2020”.
