Project “Business Incubator”

Industrial laboratories will be organized in the University

On May 25, at Tbilisi Mayor Hall, within the Municipality project – “Business Incubator”was signed the Memorandum between Georgian Technical and Tbilisi State Universities, Innovations and Technology Agency, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

“Business Incubator” is the same as FabLab. It’s one of the current projects of “Technological Development Foundations”. The target is facilitation to Innovators and First-Time businessmen (Start-Up) that will help to stimulate and motivate State development and economic growth.

Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University will organize FabLabs2 innovative industrial laboratories, equipped with newest technologies. This project will cause Tbilisi as the number one within innovations and technology development.

All interested will be able to work in the FabLab and produce interesting items that may be:

• Tourist products (Tbilisi symbol etc);

• New constructions, bridges and buildings modeling and prototyping;

• Restoration of cultural monuments’ damaged parts;

• Development of models and prototypes for infrastructures of municipality schools and gardens (elements of interior, toys…); modeling of boards, tables, decorations for Tbilisi scale events;

• Development of new monuments and statues models;

• Modeling of different elements for disabled persons;

• Modeling different prototypes.

The active phase of the project will start after memorandum signing – repair of the office facilities. Special devices will be purchased. Opening of the both laboratories are planned in the beginning September.
