Coordination Meeting Project ENGITEC
On 9-10 December, at GTU was conducted 4th Coordination Meeting within Tempus Project ENGITEC - “Modernizing higher engineering education in Georgia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan to meet the technology challenges” (530244-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-SE-TEMPUS-JPCR).
At the meeting the participants discussed the issues related to the activities, performed in participating universities during the last year and the approaches to the activities that are The meeting elaborated on detailed planning and discussion of activities and deliverables for the next project year as well.
Project “ENGITEC” aims at bringing engineering HEI in a position to educate students with qualifications needed to develop and operate complex technologies in modern team-based environment. Project Grant Holder and Coordinator is Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan (KTH - Sweden).Duration: 3 years – from 15 October, 2012, until 14 October, 2015
Project ENGITEC Specific Objectives:
- To develop capacities at Georgian, Ukrainian and Uzbek higher engineering universities in order to implement advanced EU teaching methods;
- To modernize MSc and PhD engineering programs by introduction of new interdisciplinary modules;
- To bring a new platform for academia-industry dialogue on the relevance of higher engineering education meeting the technology challenges.
Project ENGITEC Expected results:- Analysis of modern EU concepts of higher engineering education, comparative study of curricula in EU and PC universities, develop concept of the higher engineering education reform, action plan towards sustainable academia-industry dialogue;
- Interdisciplinary modules embedded at several MSc and PhD programs within 7 engineering domains taught at 3 Georgian, 4 Ukrainian and 3 Uzbek universities and related teaching materials;
- Interfaculty Technology & Product Design Lab and Joint Curriculum Boards established at 10 PC universities.
