Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Tsereteli, and Managing Director of MSC Georgia LLC, Alkan Alijik, signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in various areas, including the development of joint educational programs, strengthening students’ practical skills, and implementing research projects.
According to the GTU Vice-Rector, special attention will be paid to the students’ involvement in real work processes, which will allow them to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and gain professional experience.
As Professor Tamar Tsereteli notes, cooperation with the global logistics giant, MSC, will promote the development of innovations, the introduction of modern technologies, and the training of qualified personnel, which is significant for the country’s economic growth.
“The cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and one of the largest logistics and maritime transport companies in the world, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), aims to bring education and industry closer together. Notably, MSC has begun actively supporting the professional development of the youth and collaborating with universities. These initiatives help bridge the gap between education and industry, a key priority for the modern economy. By working with universities, MSC can identify and nurture new talent while providing students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a real professional setting. Joint research projects and the integration of academic resources will drive the advancement of cutting-edge technologies and promote their practical application across various sectors. Moreover, this partnership is vital for introducing modern technologies into both industry and education, including the modernization of curricula to ensure that students acquire skills and knowledge aligned with international standards and the evolving demands of the labor market. Ultimately, such initiatives create a solid foundation for the country’s economic growth, increases productivity, investment attractiveness, and strengthens the country’s positions in the global market,” says Tamar Tsereteli.
It is noteworthy that the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and MSC was signed online.
