“The main priority for the Georgian Technical University is to increase the competitiveness of the graduates in the labor market. “Sakkabeli” is one of the leading companies in our country, and cooperation with it will provide students with a unique opportunity. Within the framework of the memorandum, young people will be able to undergo industrial practice directly at the factory, get acquainted with modern technological processes, and most importantly, successful students will have real employment prospects. Our goal is for students to receive practical skills that business needs today, right within the university walls. Today’s agreement is an example of the successful integration of business and academia. Engineering education is unthinkable without a strong practical base – “Sakkabeli” is exactly the partner that can enrich the educational process with real industrial experience. With joint efforts, we will be able to train highly qualified engineers and technologists who will not only meet the requirements of the local market but also contribute to the economic development of the country. We are glad that the private sector is so actively involved in the educational process. Finally, I would like to thank the Career Development Department of the University’s Academic Process Management Service for organizing the event,” said Tamar Tsereteli.

As the director of “Sakkabeli” noted, cooperation with the Georgian Technical University is important for the company in terms of attracting young specialists. According to David Kapanadze, within the framework of the memorandum, “Sakkabeli” will ensure that the best students of the relevant faculties are awarded scholarships for one year.

According to the head of the Career Development Department of the Georgian Technical University’s Learning Process Management Service, the university’s goal is to create direct communication channels between students and employing industries.

As Associate Professor Nato Katamadze says, in the near future, information tours to the enterprise will be planned for students, specialized internship programs will be announced, and leading specialists of the company will conduct master classes for the youth.

“The Career Development Department is constantly working with the private sector to ensure that the demand for our students and graduates is always growing in the labor market. “Sakkabeli” is a company that is constantly looking for talented personnel in the technical field, so bringing them closer to the university is a priority in many ways. The memorandum will allow us to more effectively manage the career development and employment process of students, provide them with information about active vacancies, and support their professional growth even before they receive their diploma,” says Nato Katamadze.

The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the company “Sakkabeli” was attended by the Dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, Professor Ketevan Kutateladze, professors and students of the faculty, as well as representatives of the university administration and the company.
