Fifteen exterior and interior design projects for the University Printing House, along with their corresponding 3D visualization initial versions, were presented to the Rector by Georgian and international students of the International Design School of GTU under the leadership of Dean Professor Malkhaz Razmadze.

The 3D projects developed by the students of the GTU International Design School at a high technical level with conceptual solutions, innovative approaches and the use of new technologies have aroused great interest from the Rector and the university administration.

According to Academician David Gurgenidze, it is undoubtedly important for the Georgian Technical University that the new space intended for the university printing house is equipped according to the original design developed by the students.

According to the rector, this will be the first serious application, laying the foundation for a precedent for the future modernization of university spaces based on student projects. As the rector noted, the presented initial projects emphasize how talented and motivated young people study at the Georgian Technical University and how high the level of their professional training is.

“It is important that the improvement and equipment of the new space of the University Printing House will be carried out based on the original design projects developed by our students. This decision does not concern only the renovation of one specific object - this creates a precedent for the modernization and development of other spaces of the university in the future, according to student projects. It is also noteworthy that the facade of the University Printing House building faces one of the central arteries of Tbilisi - Merab Kostava Street and is clearly visible from Giorgi Saakadze Square. This space is in the sight of thousands of citizens and guests every day, which greatly increases the responsibility of the university administration. That is why it is of utmost importance that the exterior of the printing house be impeccably executed, modern, functional, and aesthetically distinctive, so that in the future it becomes one of the visiting cards of the Georgian Technical University.

The presented projects clearly demonstrate the exceptional level of professional training of our students, and it showed their creativity, motivation, and forward-thinking vision. I would like to thank the students of the International Design School for their hard work, innovative ideas, and high-tech projects.

At the same time, I urge them to carefully consider the comments and recommendations made by specialists and teachers during the review process to further refine their works and be as prepared as possible for the next stage. I am confident that by working together we will achieve the desired result, which fully corresponds to the scale of our university and modern design standards,” stated David Gurgenidze.

The discussion to identify the best student projects for the exterior and interior design of the new space of the University Printing House will be held in several stages. By decision of the Georgian Technical University administration, the development and presentation of exterior and interior projects of the University Printing House will be considered a learning activity for students of the International Design School. All 15 students will receive appropriate assessments from their teachers.
