Vice-Rector of Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Tsereteli, and Chairman of the Association of Auto Importers and Auto Owners of Georgia Lasha Darbaiseli signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The goal of the cooperation between the university and the association is to support the professional development of students in the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, connecting their theoretical knowledge with practical experience and ensuring compliance with the labor market’s requirements.
The cooperation includes organizing internships and industrial practice for students, developing skills tailored to the requirements of the modern automotive industry, and engaging them in a real working environment.
The memorandum also includes plans to strengthen human resources, train qualified personnel, and facilitate their employment in the member companies of the association. The parties will collaborate to develop educational and practical programs that enhance the professional development of young specialists and boost their competitiveness in the labor market.
According to the GTU Vice-Rector, the parties declare joint activities aimed at ensuring that future engineers and professionals in the automotive and technological sectors acquire innovative, modern standards-compliant education and practical experience.
As Professor Tamar Tsereteli notes, in addition to employment support, the agreement enables students to complete internships in a real business environment and to gain practical experience. This will significantly improve their competitiveness in the local and international markets.
“It is important to train students in accordance with standards that meet the rapidly changing requirements of the modern auto import and transport industry. The ongoing cooperation with the Georgian Auto Importers and Auto Owners Association is a strategically important initiative that aims to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, develop students’ skills, strengthen their professional competence, and enhance their competitiveness in the labor market. The memorandum envisages the activation of internship programs and a practical component, which will allow students to effectively engage in modern technological and engineering processes, gain experience in an enterprise environment, and master practical skills promptly, which is necessary for their professional growth. Such cooperation contributes to the formation of qualified personnel who will play a crucial role in the country’s transport, engineering, and technological sectors in the future. We see this process as a multidisciplinary strategic partnership that will be strengthened through joint practical projects, research, and professional activities”, says Tamar Tsereteli.
The parties agreed to organize training, workshops, and seminars jointly. The university will ensure the dissemination of information provided by the association among students and will support the holding of various educational events within the university space.
Within the framework of the memorandum, students will have the opportunity to receive information about current vacancies and career development programs on the market, have direct communication with potential employers, undergo consultations, and develop practical skills, which will increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
