The Georgian Technical University Receives Unique 3D Modeling Materials Gratis
To develop web applications and implement new student technology projects, the head of the GTU Development Fund, businessman David Khidasheli, has provided the Georgian Technical University with unique 3D modeling materials, applications, and high-quality computer equipment without any charge.

This was announced during a meeting between the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, and businessman David Khidasheli.

University students, members of the University Dissertation Council, as well as scientific and academic circles, attended the meeting. Academician David Gurgenidze paid special attention to the opportunities for strengthening modern research in the university space, introducing new technologies, and developing innovations.

According to David Gurgenidze, the unique material collected by businessman Davit Khidasheli over the years, which includes the vast majority of the world’s landmarks, as well as historical and cultural monuments and related applications, made using 3D modeling, will be transferred to the GTU Nuclear Engineering Center.

As the rector noted, with the direct mentorship of the center head, Dr. Besik Kekelia, students and young researchers will be able to create new 3D web applications and implement technological projects using the aforementioned materials.

“It is crucial for the university, its students, and professors to work with such unique resources that are connected with modern technologies, innovations, and stimulate the practical and theoretical development of the youth. The materials and applications created by 3D modeling, provided without any charge by businessman David Khidasheli to the Georgian Technical University, will give our students and young researchers a real opportunity to work on high-quality digital products, acquire modern technological skills, and test the theoretical knowledge received at the university in real projects. We believe that the processing of this rich material and resource will be successfully implemented at the Nuclear Engineering Center of our university, where, under the mentorship of Dr. Besik Kekelia, young people will create new 3D web applications, new innovative research projects, and lay the foundation for student startups. All this will significantly contribute to the professional development of our young people and increase competitiveness in the labor market.

It is fundamentally important for the university to partner with responsible, successful, and innovation-oriented businessmen, as this creates a solid foundation for the development of research and technologies, which contributes to the progress of our country. On behalf of the Georgian Technical University, I would like to thank David Khidasheli for his support, funding of research projects, and contribution to the development of the scientific space. I am confident that this partnership will continue successfully in the future and will bring tangible results to our youth,” noted Academician David Gurgenidze.

The head of the University Development Fund, businessman David Khidasheli, spoke about the importance of the partnership with the Georgian Technical University. He expressed his desire for future cooperation in the technology development direction and expressed his readiness to finance new projects and startups.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that David Khidasheli also donated two units of high-quality computer equipment to the GTU Nuclear Engineering Center without any charge, which will significantly strengthen the center’s capabilities and improve the educational and scientific process.
