At the Georgian Technical University, organized by the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, Vice-Rector, Professor Tamar Lominadze, students and professors hosted writer Tamar Glurjidze.
The Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems continues the tradition of supporting talented and distinguished writers and poets in modern Georgian literature. According to the format, the meetings are open to any young person who loves modern Georgian literature.
Along with students and professors, the meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, Professor Taliko Zhvania, Deputy Deans, Professors Lili Petriashvili and Nona Otkhozoria, as well as writers and guests.
The meeting with Tamar Glurjidze was held in an interactive format. At the request of the students, the author read fragments from her work, shared her vision and important details of her creative path with the young people, including talking about the most difficult period in her life, deep despair, and the greatest impetus for self-preservation, which, according to Tamar Glurjidze, became for her writing.
During the meeting, the young people expressed their desire to choose a fragment of Tamar Glurjidze’s work to read aloud. They asked the author several questions and were interested in the creative process, literary style, character prototypes, and the author’s views on modern literary trends.
As the Vice-Rector noted, the Georgian Technical University attaches particular importance to the format of meetings that provides students with the opportunity to broaden their horizons and gain new inspiration.
“Such meetings once again convince us of the power of honest conversation. Tamar Glurjidze is not only an outstanding author but also a person who shares her experiences with the youth with great warmth. With her life, Tamar Glurjidze is a living example of the fact that even in the most difficult period of life, people can discover within themselves the boundless energy that will lead them to a new, bright path in life.”
Georgian Technical University attaches special importance to meetings of this format, and it is gratifying that the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems does not betray the tradition of supporting talented writers and poets. Literature, along with science and philosophy, provides the youth with the opportunity to broaden their horizons and find new inspiration, while such meetings form direct relationships with modern Georgian writers, poets, and publicists. In such relationships, not only literature is heard, but also human experience, warmth, and responsibility are revealed, which is an invaluable resource for young people. In addition, it is a great honor for both parties when Georgian writers consider the university as a space from which their voice reaches many more young people. We believe that it is precisely such a format that strengthens the dialogue between culture, education, and science,” noted Tamar Lominadze.
At the end of the meeting, the author presented students and professors with a commemorative autographed collection of poems – “Caressing with Poems”, which combines 100 poems written with boundless longing for her granddaughter, little Anita, and a collection of miniature prose “The Passion for Life”, which is Tamar Glurjidze’s second book.
