The President of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Zurab Gudavadze, Vice-Rectors - Professors Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, met with the Rector of Artvin Chorokhi University (Turkey), Professor Ibrahim Aydin, and discussed the possibilities of deepening scientific and academic collaboration between the two universities.

The meeting was attended by Tea Murvanidze, Head of the GTU Department of International Relations, employees of the same department, as well as representatives of Artvin Chorokhi University: Director of the Center for International Relations, Associate Professor Hakan Gultekin, and Associate Professor of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Member of the Board of the Caucasus Research Center, Mehmet Ali Keskin.

The meeting was opened by the President of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Technical University. He conveyed the best wishes of the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, to the Rector of Artvin Chorokhi University, Professor Ibrahim Aydin, and his Turkish colleagues, and wished them success.

The parties discussed the possibilities of future cooperation. According to Zurab Gudavadze, the Georgian Technical University fruitfully cooperates with about 30 leading higher education institutions in Turkey. Accordingly, the expansion of academic and scientific collaboration with Turkish universities, including Artvin Chorokhi University, will further contribute to the further development of the processes of internationalization of teaching and research at the Georgian Technical University.

Vice-Rector, Professor Tamar Lominadze introduced the guests to the achievements and research priorities of the Georgian Technical University and its scientists and researchers; She spoke about the many years of successful collaboration and active and effective involvement in global scientific experiments with leading universities and major scientific organizations in the United States, Europe and Asia - including CERN in Switzerland, KEK and J-Parc in Japan, and FERMILAB in the United States.

As Tamar Lominadze noted, professors and scientists from Turkish universities often visit the Georgian Technical University, implement scientific projects in partnership with Georgian colleagues, give public lectures, and attend international scientific events organized at the GTU. According to her, the development of joint research initiatives will contribute to the establishment of a long-term partnership between the Georgian Technical University and Artvin Chorokhi University and will strengthen the educational and scientific activities of higher education institutions of both countries, as well as provide new opportunities for students, teachers, and researchers.

Vice-Rector, Professor Tamar Tsereteli, provided the Rector and representatives of the Turkish University with information about the progress of educational processes at the Georgian Technical University, the educational and research infrastructure, modern laboratory facilities, as well as exchange programs for students and professors.

As she noted, leading scientists and teachers in engineering and technology, as well as humanitarian fields, work at the Georgian Technical University. As the Vice-Rector stated, in order to establish future successful cooperation, it is desirable for the parties to use all the above-mentioned opportunities to achieve common goals and thereby make relations between the two countries more sustainable.

In turn, the Rector and representatives of Artvin Chorokhi University introduced their Georgian colleagues to the educational and scientific strategic directions of their university and talked about the involvement of Artvin Chorokhi University in the socio-economic development of the region, as well as its participation in international research and projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of a specific action plan in order to maximally contribute to the deepening of scientific, educational, and cultural relations between the Georgian Technical University and Artvin Chorokhi University.
