Lasha Maisuradze, a student of the Biomedical Engineering Educational Program of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University and a member of the Georgian Para-Arm Wrestling Team, competed brilliantly at the 46th Arm Wrestling World Championship and the 27th Para-Arm Wrestling World Championship held in Albena, Bulgaria, and as a result, became the World Champion for the fourth time.
At the ongoing World Championship in Bulgaria, where more than 2,000 athletes from 58 countries competed for the title of champion, para-arm wrestler Lasha Maisuradze, competing with both his left and right hands, won three gold medals and one silver medal in the 60+ kg weight categories for youth and 90 kg weight categories for seniors.

As the rector states, the triumph of Lasha Maisuradze and the Georgian para-armwrestling team at the Albena World Championship is an important victory for Georgian sport.
“Lasha Maisuradze’s another victory and four-time world champion title are the result of his hard work, great determination, and professionalism; at the same time, it is a clear example of how a talented young man who relentlessly strives for his goal can bring the name of his homeland to one of the most prestigious sports competitions in the world. It is especially proud that such a young man, endowed with such amazing skills and constantly oriented towards development, is a student of our university. With his success, Lasha Maisuradze clearly shows how the pursuit of knowledge and sportsmanship can be combined into one great force in a person. Lasha Maisuradze, a student of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems and a para-armwrestler, won four gold medals at the European Championships held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in June of this year.
