Students of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering of the Georgian Technical University, jointly initiated and organized by the management team of the “Paragraph Tbilisi” hotel and the student self-government, participated in an employment forum held at the hotel.
The event aimed to deepen communication between students and employers, promote professional development, and offer opportunities for future career development. Within the framework of the forum, students met with the hotel’s human resources managers, also participated in information sessions, and presented their specific positions during interviews.
According to Professor Boris Githolendia, Dean of the GTU Faculty of Transportation Systems and Mechanical Engineering, such events contribute to the deepening of cooperation between the university and the private sector, and the professional growth of young people.
“Today’s engineering education cannot be satisfied with just classroom experience. The modern labor market is looking for specialists who not only possess profile competencies, but also are familiar with the dynamics and needs of the industry and know how to apply knowledge in practice. Participation in such forums allows students to test their professional readiness, learn about sectoral requirements, and make decisions. For the faculty, this is an important source of feedback, which allows us to analyze how adequately the curriculum responds to technological transformation and rapid changes in the labor market,” the dean emphasizes.
Organized by the management of the ”Paragraph Tbilisi Hotel”|, leading experts from the Austrian business sector will conduct training for students of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering who will undergo an internship at “Paragraph Tbilisi”.
“For students, training, especially with the involvement of experts from companies in countries such as Austria, is a crucial stage in terms of both professional and intellectual growth. This format of cooperation allows young people to study European standards of engineering practice in a real working environment, to integrate into multidisciplinary teams. In addition, such experience contributes to the formation of the type of engineer who is competitive not only in the local, but also in the global labor market."
