The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, congratulates the scientific staff and head of the Tsotne Mirtskhulava Scientific Research Institute of Water Management of GTU on this significant day and wishes them success.
As the Rector notes, along with the expansion of international cooperation, the values that closely connect education, science, and social responsibility should be strengthened.
“Water management, as a field, plays one of the most important roles in the modern world, where, in the conditions of urban development, taking into account the threats related to climate change or water resources, rational management of natural resources, protection of ecosystems, and development of sustainable infrastructure remain challenges of global importance. In this context, the Institute of Water Management of the Georgian Technical University has been an important educational, scientific, and engineering center for a century, which has been actively implementing research projects in the field of water resources protection and management, not only in Georgia, but also abroad, and making decisions based on innovative technologies. The Institute’s contribution is especially valuable in conditions when the implementation of water supply and environmental policies based on the principles of sustainable development is critically important for the country, which demonstrates the importance of the Institute both nationally and globally.
This institute has raised many generations of engineers, researchers, and specialists who have successfully worked in Georgia and abroad. The result of their work is not only scientific achievements and successes, but also values related to dedication to science, professional ethics, and social responsibility. Thus, today we are proud of the successes achieved in the past. Today is a turning point that reminds us of our responsibility and duty to the future. This is the beginning of something new, which reminds us that experience is only a support for the implementation of plans. The glorious history of the Institute of Water Management should become a strategic foundation for a sustainable, innovative future. I am sure that the international scientific conference - “Modern Problems of Water Management, Environmental Protection, Architecture and Construction” will become a powerful platform for new ideas and cooperation. I would like to thank the scientists participating in the conference, and I want to express my special thanks and heartfelt congratulations to all those people who have been serving the field of water management with their knowledge and dedication for years,” David Gurgenidze noted in his address.
The scientific and technical conference “Modern Problems of Water Management, Environmental Protection, Architecture and Construction” was held in three sections over two days.
