“Our faculty combines two of the most essential areas: law and international relations. These disciplines are crucial for the functioning of a modern state, legal order, international cooperation, and global development. We need critically thinking professionals who can lead both national and international processes with integrity for the advancement of the field,” stated Associate Professor Ivane (Mamuka) Giorgadze, Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations at Georgian Technical University, while summarizing on the 2024/2025 academic year.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, the Faculty of Law and International Relations will graduate 334 bachelor’s, 112 master’s, and 11 doctoral students.
Throughout the academic year, various projects were implemented at the faculty, including “Academic Discussions”, “Meetings with Public School Students”, “Imitated Processes”, “Modeling”, and “Round Tables”. Additionally, the faculty hosted numerous cyclical public lectures, workshops, and local and international conferences for both students and academic staff.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Georgian Technical University, the university strives to create not only an environment for high-standard education, but also a space where, at the same time, responsible and patriotic citizens are raised.
“The Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Georgian Technical University is staffed with experienced and highly qualified academic and scientific circles, who are not limited to theoretical teaching, but also actively ensure that young people develop the necessary practical skills in law and diplomacy. The faculty actively cooperates with the public and private sectors, which gives students great opportunities for internships and career development in a real environment. Students benefit from various international exchange programs, including within the framework of “ERASMUS+”. We have successful graduates who work as judges, lawyers, diplomats, civil servants, and specialists in international organizations. Law is the basis of social justice and order. It is through it that a future professional should become the voice of those who need legal protection. Studying international relations is an opportunity for a future specialist to become a participant in global processes, to work in diplomacy, and in international organizations. Considering that the role of law and international relations is one of the decisive ones in the development of a state, the administration of the Georgian Technical University and personally the rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, pay special attention to the development and strengthening of the faculty. The faculty is provided with a modern educational infrastructure, where highly qualified professors and teachers teach programs integrated with practice. The current academic year is practically over. Starting next academic year, we will continue to work and move towards our goal - for our students to become professionals in the field and future leaders”, says Ivane Giorgadze.
