GTU Rector Congratulates Student Lasha Maisuradze on the European Para-Arm Wrestling Championship
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, congratulates Lasha Maisuradze, a student of the Biomedical Engineering Program of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems and a member of the Georgian Para-Arm Wrestling Team, on winning the European Champion title.

Para-arm wrestler Lasha Maisuradze won four gold medals at the European Arm-Wrestling Championship held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, competing with his left and right hands in the 90 kg and 60+ kg weight categories.

As the Rector states, the great victory of the Georgian Para-Arm Wrestling Team and its member Lasha Maisuradze, and in general, the successful performance of Georgian para-athletes in international tournaments, always causes admiration.

Winning four gold medals and winning the title of European Champion clearly demonstrates his exceptional talent, hard work and perseverance. These skills determine the success of our para-athletes. After all, para-sport is one of the strongest manifestations of human strength and perseverance. The extraordinary result that the Georgian para-arm wrestler team showed at this year’s European Championship can only be achieved through tireless work, great strength and willpower. The victory of Georgian para-arm wrestlers, including Lasha Maisuradze, reminds us that true success lies in a focused effort to overcome challenges.

On behalf of the professors and students of the Faculty of Administration, Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University, I once again congratulate our student, Lasha Maisuradze, on his great victory and wish him success in the academic and sports arenas,” notes David Gurgenidze.

For information, the Georgian para-arm wrestling team finished this year’s European Championship with a historic result - 126 medals. Georgian para-arm wrestlers won 56 gold, 46 silver, and 24 bronze medals in various weight categories.
