The Georgian Technical University is hosting a staff mobility week under the auspices of the European Union’s programme for education, youth, and sport – “ERASMUS+” - and within the framework of the international project “ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility” funded by the European Union.
The ERASMUS+ week, which includes a training course, is attended by representatives of the ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility coordinating universities from the following European countries: France - University of Toulouse, Romania - Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Poland - University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Wroclaw, Rzeszow and Silesian Universities of Technology, Turkey - Sivas Republic, Gaziantep, Kastamonu, Istanbul Bilgi Universities, Czech Republic - Mendel University in Brno.
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Week, the Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Lominadze, and representatives of European universities organized a meeting to discuss the key issues of the week.
The GTU administration representatives, deans of faculties, and professors attended the meeting.
As Tamar Lominadze noted, the projects “ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility” and “ERASMUS+ Staff Week” will contribute in many ways to the further development of the internationalization processes of teaching and research at the Georgian Technical University.
“It is gratifying that high-ranking colleagues from various European universities are visiting us within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility Week. I would like to convey the best wishes of the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, and on his behalf, wish them success. This event is an important step towards deepening academic and scientific collaboration, as well as the development of the process of internationalization of teaching and research at the Georgian Technical University. Through workshops, discussions, and joint initiatives, we are jointly forming the foundations of a long-term partnership, which will only strengthen educational and scientific activities. Sharing knowledge and new experiences opens up new opportunities for our students, young researchers, and academic staff. We are confident that the relationships established within the week framework will guarantee fruitful future cooperation,” noted Tamar Lominadze.
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Week, representatives of European universities, to deepen educational and research collaboration, will hold meetings with academic and scientific staff of various faculties of the Georgian Technical University, as well as with applicants participating in the ERASMUS+ mobility competition. In the form of a presentation, they will introduce their universities, get acquainted with the educational and research infrastructure of the GTU, the laboratory bases of the faculties, and the current academic and scientific activities and achievements.
Within the framework of the international project - “ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility” funded by the European Union, the Staff Mobility Week at the Georgian Technical University will continue until May 23rd.
