At the initiative of the Georgian Technical University administration, organized by the Career Development Department of the Educational Process Management Service, with the involvement of faculties and in partnership with state and private organizations, a large-scale forum – “Employment Week – 2025” was opened, in which about 170 state and private organizations, students, and graduates of all faculties of GTU, professors, and teachers are participating.
With the Employment Forum, the Georgian Technical University continues to support the employment and career development of students and graduates. The university administration invited all young people who will graduate from GTU this year, as well as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, to the Employment Week.
The university “Employment Week – 2025” was opened by the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, in the first academic building and wished success to students, graduates, and employing organizations.
According to the rector, the university administration aims to provide effective support to the youth in employment direction and career growth, and to connect them with authoritative organizations and business companies operating in the Georgian labor market within the university space.
“For several years, the Employment Forum has gained impressive scale and has become an effective university platform for supporting students and graduates, as well as for deepening partnerships between the university, state organizations, and industries. We are pleased that there are several Georgian companies at the Employment Forum organized by our university. The Employment Week opened today and will continue for a week in various academic buildings, with the active involvement of faculties. A large number of employing organizations at the University Forum give us real grounds for optimism. We expect about 170 authoritative organizations and business companies operating in the country’s labor market to attend the week, which will offer young people active vacancies and paid internship programs. This is a unique opportunity for employment by profession. Taking care of students’ and graduates’ career development and activating related approaches in the university space is one of the most important priorities of the Georgian Technical University. In itself, this process contributes to the formation of the next generation of professional specialists and, at the same time, aims to develop higher or vocational educational programs, maintain continuous contact with employing organizations, and fill their ranks with young professionals who have graduated from the Georgian Technical University. Organizations and industries, relying on qualified personnel from the university, make the greatest contribution to the Georgian economic development. I wish success to our students, graduates, and all organizations participating in the university employment forum,” noted Rector David Gurgenidze.
As Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, Head of the Career Development Department of the GTU Academic Process Management Service, says, holding an annual large-scale employment forum has already become a tradition at the Georgian Technical University. The forum, which this year has acquired a weekly format, is being held at the university for the fourth time.
“Among other priorities, the Georgian Technical University has a healthy ambition to build a bridge between students and employing organizations. One of the most important concerns of the university, in addition to conducting a high-quality educational process, is the career growth of students and graduates and their decent employment. We believe that a powerful and effective platform for career development operates in the university space. The university administration spares no effort to create equal opportunities for development and employment for all young people. A clear confirmation of this is this year’s University Forum, which this time, considering the expansion of its scale, we have already offered our young people a week-long event. We hope that the university event, with the support of the Georgian Technical University administration, will pave the way for many students and graduates and provide support in finding decent employment,” said Nato Katamadze.
The “Employment Week – 2025” was attended by Vice-Rectors Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, Deans of Faculties and Academic Staff, Representatives of the University Administration and Student Self-Government, and Heads of Employer Organizations.
The “Employment Week”, which involves all faculties, is being held alternately in the GTU academic buildings until May 23rd; on May 19th - in the 1st Building; on May 20th - in the 6th Building; on May 21st - in the 11th Building; on May 22nd - in the 3rd Building. Within the framework of the Employment Forum organized by the Georgian Technical University, stands of up to 170 state and private organizations of various profiles will be located.
Employers will offer students and graduates a total of more than 1,500 vacancies and paid internship programs.
Young people will receive comprehensive information and consultations directly from the organizations’ representatives, select the desired vacancies, and fill out applications on the spot. On May 23rd, the rector and administration of the Georgian Technical University will summarize the results of the “Employment Week – 2025”.
