The Head of Administration (Chancellor) of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Karlo Kopaliani, and the President of the Supervisory Board, Professor Zurab Gudavadze met with the members of the delegation of the Uzbekistan University of Science and Technology, Zumrat Gaibnazarova, and Dilnoza Yuldosheva.
The purpose of the working meeting between the representatives of the Georgian Technical University and the Uzbekistan University of Science and Technology was to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
According to the Chancellor of the Georgian Technical University, the cooperation between the two higher education institutions includes joint educational and research activities, as wells as exchange programs for students, scientists, and professors.
“The Uzbekistan University of Science and Technology is interested in cooperation with our university in engineering and humanitarian educational programs and research directions. The Georgian Technical University, one of the oldest in the South Caucasus region, has leading scientists, specialists, and promising young researchers in engineering, technology, and humanitarian fields. Our scientific and academic staff actively cooperates with major international research organizations and centers such as CERN in Switzerland, KEK and J-Parc in Japan, FERMILAB in the USA, the Willich Center, and the DAAD organization. We have close contacts with leading universities in Germany, Italy, France, and other European countries. Multilateral international scientific collaboration is important to us, including with Uzbek colleagues.
Our university has an excellent educational and scientific infrastructure and material and technical base in the form of state-of-the-art laboratories, which we can use for successful collaboration and common goals. We believe that the scientific and academic circles of both universities will work together on several scientific projects and we will be glad if the Georgian Technical University becomes the scientific base for these projects”, said Carlo Kopaliani.
Within the framework of the memorandum, professors, and students of the Georgian Technical University and the Uzbekistan University of Science and Technology will be given a multifaceted opportunity for cooperation in the education of Georgia and Uzbekistan shortly, which will include educational and research processes.
