The Next Spring Session of the “Young Entrepreneurs Center” Has Begun
“At the Georgian Technical University, the Faculty of Business Technologies has been successfully implementing the Young Entrepreneurs Center project, which has been helping students learn business basics for seven years. Our goal is to teach young people the basic principles of entrepreneurship, and give them the necessary knowledge and skills that will help them take their first steps,” said Professor Guguli Kurashvili, Dean of the GTU Faculty of Business Technologies at the opening event of the spring session of the “Young Entrepreneurs Center”.

The spring session of the “Young Entrepreneurs Center” has begun at the Faculty of Business Technologies of GTU. About 70 students from 13 public and private schools in Tbilisi and Rustavi are participating.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business Technologies thanked the authors of the successful project. As Guguli Kurashvili stated, the project and the program, according to which future students learn the basics of business, was implemented with the support of the GTU Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, and was developed in 2017 under the direct leadership of the former Deans of the Faculty, Professor Rusudan Kutateladze, and Professor Merab Mikelashvili.

“Our goal is to teach young people the basic principles of entrepreneurship and give them the necessary knowledge and skills to help them take their first steps. Over 450 students have received certificates over the past 7 years, and the project has become a bridge between school and university, preparing the new generation for future success. We are pleased that more than 60 students have joined us this year. Young people, let’s explore the world of business together, develop creative ideas, and create a solid foundation for success!”, said the Dean.

During the session, faculty professors, doctoral and master’s students will give lectures to schoolchildren on such issues as the essence of entrepreneurship and business; the essence of entrepreneurship; where to look for a business idea; management in parables, and not only...; leader and leadership; marketing as the art of sales and creative thinking; critical thinking; emotional intelligence; my place in the world of professions; tourism as entrepreneurship; time management; financial thinking - the nature of money and managing one’s finances; business ethics and business etiquette; personality design - 21st century skills, etc.

According to the head of the “Young Entrepreneurs Center” of the GTU Faculty of Business Technologies, Professor Merab Mikelashvili, according to statistics, every fifth entrant plans to continue his/her studies in the direction of business technologies.

„The task of the “Young Entrepreneurs Center” is to provide students with information about their future profession. We gave them comprehensive answers to the questions - what is business and economics, what is management and marketing, emotional intelligence and logical thinking, leadership, and business etiquette. These are the main issues that give a schoolchild, as a whole, an idea of his future profession. Lectures are given to students by professors and teachers of the Faculty of Business Technologies of the GTU. It is important that our doctoral students also participate in the project in terms of teaching,” said Merab Mikelashvili.
